SWEET AND SPICY BAKED CAULIFLOWER
Keep it simple with this fried side dish. Cauliflower flowers are thrown into an irresistible sweet and spicy marinade and baked to tender.
Ingredients
4 cups of cabbage
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons of sriracha
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/2 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ยบ. Baking line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl (or Ziplock bag), mix cauliflower and other ingredients - maple syrup, sriracha, olive oil, tamari and pepper. Mix until cauliflower is well covered.
- Pour the cauliflower onto a baking sheet and place in the oven. Be sure to provide cauliflower “breathing space”. If the pan is full, the cauliflower will “float” and it will not cook properly. If you need, divide it into 2 baking sheets.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until cauliflower is soft.
Notes
- I recommend serving it over a bed of steaming quinoa or rice.
- You can easily include other vegetables with cauliflower or instead.
